Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #23 Lockdown Day #24

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #23
Lockdown Day #24

Happy Monday! New day, new week and possibly new inspiration 😁, I guess we just have to remember that this too shall pass, although life as we knew it might never be the same again we will welcome the day when we can visit each other and spend time together physically.

I was going to have a rant about the 100 kids having a street party last night and not social distancing, but then I guess there always has to be someone who is going to go against the rules, and if you are going to allow alcohol to be sold during lockdown this is going to happen.

On that note I have been having a whiskey every evening and found that my blood sugar in the morning is so much better, however I forgot to check it this morning, oh dear

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #22 Lockdown Day #21

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #22
Lockdown Day #21

I sometimes feel that the world is just crazy, Keelings flying in fruit pickers from Bulgaria on a chartered flight when we are in Lockdown, apparently no social distancing either as there were 168 on the Ryanair flight!

I think people are suddenly becoming too complacent with the Virus, I certainly don't want to get it.

They interviewed a woman in her car in the US last night and all she complained about was her roots are grey and she can't get to the hairdresser and they need to end the Lockdown, well lady it won't matter what your roots look like when you are dead! Honestly?

On that Somber not - Happy Friday Everyone, it's been a really short week for me. Take care and #staysafe

Lets dream about the next best holiday!

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #21
Lockdown Day #20
Happy Thursday everyone, while we can't make too may new memories at the moment, we can reminisce on all our old memories, we spent most of Easter going through old photographs and remembering special holidays and moments we have had.
Lets hope this will all soon be over so we can make new memories, visit new places and hug the people we miss so much ♥♥ - Sending our thoughts and love to everybody today!
Happy Birthday to a lot of Special people out there, who would have known today would be such a popular day for birthdays, Happy Birthday Dad Rowe, Ann Pienaar, LarissaFunekaMandy and of course Trevor and Kirstin's twins who turned 10 today! Hope you all have a lovely day.
Sharing a beautiful picture that Emily put on her Facebook page, taken in Disneyland Paris in 2015 with her cousin Brandon. Thanks for sharing the photo Bran.

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #20
Lockdown Day #13
Happy Maundy Thursday, I had to Google the exact meaning, I just remember it was the day of the "Last Supper", and of course the day before "Good Friday" and the long week-end, for me it's extra long as I have taken Tuesday and Wednesday off - I think I might re-visit all the beautiful countries we have visited in the last 25 years!
No photo description available.I'll try and do my daily post but don't hold your breath, hope you all have a lovely Easter Week-end, take care #stayhome #staysafe 🌹🦋🐣🐥🐰🌞❤️

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #19 Lockdown Day #12

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #19
Lockdown Day #12
Happy Passover to all my Jewish friends and family - I was informed last night that as part of the Pesach you are supposed to drink 4 glasses of wine this evening when the Passover starts, however due to no selling of alcohol in South Africa during lockdown there is a slim chance that not everyone will be able to do this.
Yet another day in Lockdown but only 2 days to Easter and all the children in Ireland have been told that the Easter bunny is an essential worker, so he will be delivering Easter Eggs. (lol ... seriously)!
Anyway happy Humpday till tomorrow.

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #16
Lockdown Day #7
I know for most people each day just seems to roll into the next, so I guess one consolation about being able to work from home is that you know what day it is and when it is Friday, so happy Friday everyone.
While the world falls apart around us, economically speaking and this virus grips us, I guess there is a silver lining that the earth is healing itself. Pollution has dropped, no cars, no planes etc etc, so is it really the cows that are creating all the methane we ask?
For those of you who have never been to a Game Park or as they say in America a "Safari Park" here is a link to the Kruger national park and a lot of videos ... happy watching.

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #15
Lockdown Day #6
Good Morning on this Greyish overcast day, the only reason I don't mind this weather is because I have to work, and sitting at the dining room table in the Extension, if the sun comes up especially later in the afternoon, it makes it very difficult to see my screen.
I hadn't thought about what to say this morning, except it's my 2nd birthday in isolation, at least this one I am at home!
Thank you for all the lovely birthday messages, on Facebook, Messenger and Whatsapp you guys Rock!
If I don't get to send you a personal Thank you it's because Facebook is not very intuitive / user friendly, but at least it's a way of staying in contact with everyone!

Lockdown Day #5

Happy April everyone and happy /birthday Rob Levy, today I want to shout out to all those who are looking after us at this time, those that get up every morning and risk their lives with this virus - the people in the supermarkets, petrol stations, the Garda, the doctors, the nurses and even the News crew and politicians who are out their each day! Our Health Minister Simon Harris who is on TV every night and looks like he hasn't slept in days! We salute you all - Thank you!

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #13 Lockdown Day #4

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #13
Lockdown Day #4
Reading about so many terrible things happening in the world, how lucky are we to have a home to isolate, think of those who don't, all the homeless and especially those densely populated countries like South Africa, the Philippines and India just to name a few. Counting all my blessings today, the fact that I am still able to work, however all the self employed who are worrying about what tomorrow might bring and in fact all of us wondering what tomorrow might bring. It made me think of our parents and grandparents who may have been around during WW1 and WW2 when it went on for years and they had no idea when it would end. #staysafe #stayhome #staysane

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #12 Lockdown Day #3

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #12
Lockdown Day #3
Happy Monday, I always feel the hour we lost when it comes to day light saving in Spring, happy Monday everyone!
We laugh, we cry,
We live, we die,
and when we're gone, the world goes on.
We love, we hate, we learn too late,
How small we are, how little we know.
We hear, we touch, we talk too much,
of things we have no knowledge of.
We see, we feel,
yet can't conceal,
How small we are, how little we know.

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #11

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #11 - Happy Friday everyone!

Facebook reminded me today of so many things I have to be grateful for:-

  • Today in 2009 I saw Tina Turner perform live in Dublin wow she was incredible, the dear old lady is 81 this year!
  • Today in 2010 we were on our way to Sicily which was another awesome holiday, and we almost didn't get back because of the Ash cloud.
  • Today in 2015 we arrived in Paris for a week holiday and I got to spend my birthday at the Moulin Rouge
  • Today in 2016 we were in London and got to spend an awesome day with lots of our friends who live there, MandyDavidKenny, Jean and Lynn
So be grateful for all the wonderful memories you have and don't stress about what is happening in the world right now, this too shall pass ... Love you all

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #10

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #10 I was reading News24 and the rather drastic lockdown measures they are taking - https://www.news24.com/…/coronavirus-the-rules-you-need-to-…

Things like NOT being able to walk your dog or go for a walk??? AND worst of all, No alcohol for sale at all for sale, be it in grocery stores or anywhere - Prohibition!
Prohibition is the act or practice of forbidding something by law; more particularly the term refers to the banning of the manufacture, storage (whether in barrels or in bottles), transportation, sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
It seems to me that Crime will escalate in South Africa so guys be vigilant and look after yourselves and each other! And if you need a drink find a way to get to Ireland, although the pubs are closed you can still buy alcohol in the shops! Prost! Salute! Cheers.
In a zoom meeting this morning, one of the presenters mentioned Napolene's quote about drinking champagne, so I had to research it: “In victory, you deserve Champagne; in defeat, you need it.” — Napoleon Bonaparte. The classic excuse for drinking Champagne no matter what happens comes from Napoleon. Bonaparte may have followed the logic as he took over Europe, but there's no record of him ever actually saying it.
To that I bid you farewell until tomorrow! 💚😁😍🌹

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #9 -

Facebook reminded me today that a year ago today was one of my last days in ICU.

When I look back at these photos of me in ICU and the one with me on the ventilator, my heart  goes out to all those people who are in hospital with the Coronavirus, I can sympathize first hand as last year I would have been in ICU with pneumonia, and other complications - On March 11th 2019, Derrick found me at home collapsed and called the ambulance, I was resuscitated twice on the way to the hospital, and was in a coma for about 5 days, drifting in and out of consciousness. But hubby was there all the time, taking to me and praying.

I didn't want to share the rest but this was the last one of me taken in ICU a year ago! Everyone stay strong and stay at home!

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #8

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #613459876 .... sorry I have forgotten what day it is (actually only day #8 but feels like the other one) -

To all my friend in the UK and South Africa on Total Lock-down, please stay safe!

We wait to hear later today if we will be on total lock-down, over the week-end people were out in the sunny weather, not social distancing so the government is stepping up our confinement to stop people socializing.

Apparently there was a house party in Longford with 80 people??? Some people are just not taking it seriously enough!

On Sunday Derrick and Emily have both shaved their heads in aid of Cancer, I'm asking for donations to Irish Cancer Society.

We've chosen this charity because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope that you'll consider contributing as a way of celebrating with us. Every little bit will help us reach our goal. I've included information about Irish Cancer Society below.

Together we prevent cancer, empower and support people, and save lives.

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #6

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #6...

My wonderful husband and I worked in the same company for many years, however we did not spend 24/7 together as we worked in different departments, but through my illness last year he worked from home and looked after me, so being together for long periods of time is not new to us, and thank goodness Emily is almost 17 and can do her lessons on line!

I empathize with parents that have small children and have to monitor what they are doing all the time and also work from home, my  and thoughts go out to you all!

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #5

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #5...

Photos from my lunchtime walk.

An interesting fact I heard yesterday from a friend who lives in the South of France, so the French people were not taking the Lock down seriously, so the government introduced a system whereby you need to download a permit in order to go anywhere, for a walk, to the shops etc. etc. If you are caught without a permit you will be fined €135! It seems to now have worked in keeping people from Socializing in parks and other places.

We're lucky enough to have a walking trail behind our house accessed by an "illegal" gate we have in our back garden!

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #4

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #4 ...

Today was a challenging day, trying to learn something new on the product with only colleagues at the other side of Zoom to help.

The DJ on the radio said by the time Coronavirus is over and we are no longer all in self isolation, how many divorces will there be 😂.

So tired of reading about Nostradamus predictions, Siener Van Rensburg and every other person who has interpreted this as "The end of the World" and the apocalypse has arrived! If it is, I really don't need everyone telling me.

Tired of Conspiracy theories ... China invented this disease so they could take over the world! - seriously???

People spreading Fake News - Yes Mr. Trump now we all know what "Fake News" means, till tomorrow - stay safe and listen to music!!!

I bet those people who live close to airports are celebrating the lack of Noise!

Ireland ... Coronavirus Curbing the Spread WFH Day #2

Coronavirus Curbing the spread - WFH Day #2 ...

I didn't report anything today, I guess it was just another work from home day!  The government also put it out to all companies that if employees could work from home they had to do so from now on.

All schools were shut as from today and students who could do online classes would be doing it from today until further notice.  This was announced on Friday the 13th of March however Emily was already told to stay home.

Everyone was in a state of shock.
