Yep, the title sounds like a movie and I am sure it was. Well it really was the longest day, we were up at 3 a.m. in the shower, suitcases down stairs and house guests and Em sound asleep. The next thing the heavens opened, I have never seen so much rain in Dublin in my life, it was like a tropical down pour. The taxi driver did not have an umbrella and was waiting outside, D and my umbrella were in the car and we had disconnected the batteries. So we waited and waited but there was no abating, so D went off got the umbrella and saw everything safely to the taxi.
On the way to the airport at 4 a.m. the roads were flooded near Drumcondra and we were holding our breath that the flight had not been cancelled or worse yet we would get stuck on the way, but we got there in one piece.
Our flight to London left on time at 7 a.m. and we arrived in London at 8:00 from there we had to change from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5, we were supposed to leave at 12 Midday but the flight was delayed and we only left at 13:00 but all was well because it was a 10 and a half hour flight.
Once seated we each had our own TV screen and could watch Videos, Movies or play games. Em loved this. It was a long flight and of course it never go dark because we were chasing the Sun, we finally arrived in LA at 4:00 PM which would have been Midnight in Ireland, Em had been awake during the whole flight so was starting to get a bit ratty. Anyway we sailed through, got our luggage and then went to pick up our rental car, which was a big Toyota Sedan.
